99 litres of Yodaya-made Pholcodine seized in Hopong
Yangon, 6 June –
A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and Myanmar
Police Force, acting on information, inspected an aircon-bus with number plate
Sa/9716 and a Hilux with number plate Na/4290 at the junction of crops-tax
tollgate in Hopong on 26 May and seized 99 litres of Yodaya-made Pholcodine
liquid on the Hilux.
The investigation on driver of the aircon-bus Htay Hlaing,
son of U Aung Shwe of Sittathuka Ward in Shwehyaung, led to the arrest of Ko
Htut (a) Htut Khaung, son of U Aung Ngwe of Sittathuka Ward in Shwe-hyaung and
Po Cho, son of U San Ba of Nyaungshwe Hawgone Ward in Taunggyi, who arrived to
carry the drugs. Action is being taken against them under the Narcotic Drugs and
Psy-chotropic Substances Law by the police station concerned.
