Stimulant tablets and heroin seized
Yangon,
27 Sept – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Kengtung Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, searched the house of
Aik Khe of Sutywe Village in Yankha Village-tract, Kengtung Township, on 26
August and seized a total of 1,800 stimulant tablets weighing 0.18 kilos.
Similarly, a combined team consisting of members of local
intelligence unit, local battalion and Muse Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on a
tip-off, searched the house of Son Lint of No 43, Ward-4, Monkoe, on 12
September and seized 153 grams of heroin, one M-20 pistol, three rounds of
ammunition and one magazine.
Action is being taken against them under the Narcotic Drugs
and Psychotropic Substances Law by the police station concerned.

Stimulant tablets and raw opium seized
Yangon,
21 Sept – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Hpa-an
Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on a tip-off, searched Aung Zaw Moe and seized
180 stimulant tablets from his rain coat in front of Hpa-an bus terminal on 9
September 2002.
Lickewise, a team comprising members of local intelligence
unit and Railway Police Force, acting on information, on 10 September, searched
Win Myint Oo sitting at seat No 43 of No 41 Mandalay-Myitkyina up-train at
Mandalay Station and seized 7.756 kilos of raw opium. Similarly, on 11
September, a team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Railway
Police Force, acting on information, arrested Ma Aye Aye San and Ma San Yi who
were on board Mandalay-Myitkyina up-train at Shwebo Station along with 4.899
kilos of raw opium.
Action is being taken against them under the Narcotic Drugs
and Psychotropic Substances Law by the police stations concerned.

Opium and stimulant tablets seized
Yangon,
20 Sept – A combined team made up of members of local intelligence unit and
Myanmar Police Force, acting on a tip-off, searched the house of Daw Nan Kham of
Phache Village, Mongton Township, at 10.15 am on 7 September and seized 180
stimulant tablets from the pocket of Saing Maw Nay Ya who was sitting in the
living room.
The Mongton Police Station is taking action against Saing Maw
Nay Ya, 43, son of U San Nu of Mekin Village, Mongton Township, and Daw Nan Kham,
40, daughter of U Lon Hti under Section 15/19 (A) 21 of Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Law. A similar team, acting on information, made a
thorough body search on Ma Du Tan Paungla Aung on the road in Shinbweyan
Village, Tanai Township at 5.35 pm on 8 September and seized 277.61 grams of
opium.
Action is being taken against Ma Du Tan Paungla Aung, 28,
daughter of U Nan Zein Tan of Zaydan, Ward 1, Shinbweyan Village, and her
accomplice Daw La Phaing Khaung Nan, 45, daughter of U Makyin Kha under Section
15/19 (A) 21.

Actions taken against drug possessors in Mandalay, Phakant
Yangon, 18 Sept
– A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and Mandalay
Special Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information, searched the house of Ma San San
Lwin (a) Shaw Ton of Thumingala Ward, Ward 2, PyinOoLwin Township, at 10.30 am
on 10 August 2002 and seized 112.6 grams of opium oil and 33 grams of low-grade
opium. PyinOoLwin Police Station filed Ma San San Lwin (a) Shaw Ton, 43,
daughter of U Kyu Tei Whay, under Sections 15/19 (A) of Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Law.
A similar team seized 1.306
kilos of row opium near the bed of Daw Aye Phaung Word 3, Sapaw village-tract,
Phakant Police Station filed Daw Aye Phaung,43, daughter of U Paw Me Han and
fugitive Ma Thwe . Hmway, 37, daughter of U . Kam Hsaing, of Hmawshan Ward 1,
Seikmu Village-tract, Phakant Township, under Section 15/19 (a)/21.

2.9 kilos of raw opium seized in Muse

angon, 17 Sept – A
combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and Myanmar
Police Force, searched two suspects, Ma Jian Yon Fein of Xima Village, Yinjian
Township in Yunnan Province, China, and Ma Jan Xin Mei of Shaukhaw Village in
Kutkai Township, near Asia World Check-point in Mongyu (105th Mile), Muse
Township in Shan State (North), on 6 September and found 2.9 kilos of raw opium
on them. Action is being taken against them in accordance with the Narcotic
Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the police station concerned.

Stimulant tablets, raw opium and precursors seized

angon, 16 Sept – A combined team comprising
members of local intelligence unit and Myitkyina Special Anti-drug Squad, acting
on information, searched the house of Nyi Nyi Naing (a) Ar Too and Be Shann in
Thayagon village, Phakant Township and arrested them together with 22 stimulant
tablets and 1.5 gram of raw opium in a suitcase on 16 August.
Likewise, a combined team searched the house of Daw Woo Nyawt
in Thayagon village in Phakant Township and arrested her together with 98
stimulant tablets. Similarly, a combined team comprising members of local
intelligence unit and Muse Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information,
stopped and searched a vehicle with number plates (Tha/8242) which was on its
way from Muse to Namhkan on Namhkan road and arrested Sho Kyu Tal who was at the
wheel and Kwet Sei, a passenger, together with 9 pices of paraphernalia used in
refining narcotic drugs and 4 precursors.
In connection with the cases, action is being taken against
them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the police
station concerned.

Raw opium and stimulant tablets seized
Yangon,
14 Sept – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Kengtung Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, intercepted and
searched a Hilux car with number plates Pa/9842 at Mongphyat check-point and
arrested passenger Arphar , son of U Aryo, together with 660 grams of raw opium
on 10 August. .
Similarly, on 17 August, a combined team comprising members
of local intelligence unit and Muse Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on
information, searched ,Win Shin (a) Arshin on his arrival on a motorbike without
number plates at New Century quest House and seized 41,800 stimulant tablets
weighing 4.18 kilos. Likewise, a combined team comprising members of local
intelligence unit and local regiment, acting on information, searched the house
of Ma Shauk Hsan, daughter of U Liter of Nakha Village, Kutkai Township, on 26
August and seized 16 packs of raw opium weighing 35 kilos.
Action is being taken against them under the Narcotic Drugs
and Psychotropic Substances Law by the police stations concerned.

13 Sept – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Hpa-an
Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, searched the house of U Ngwe
Thaw of Ward 3, Kyankingon, Myawady and seized 52 stimulant tablets on 16
August. Action is being taken against U Ngwe Thaw, 55, son of U Vane under
Section 15/19(A)/20(A)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
Similarly, a combined team comprising members of local
intelligence unit, border inspection headquarters and Kawthoung Special
Anti-drug Squad, acting on a tip-off, searched the boat KT 178 at Kawthoung
jetty and seized 2534 stimulant tablets. In connection with the case, action is
being taken against San Lin, 25, son of U Thein Thaung of Tayottan, Hpayalay
village, DaikU Township under Section 15/16(C)19(A)/20(B) of the Narcotic Drugs
and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Phensedyl and heroin
seized
Yangon, 11 Sept
– A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and Kale
Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, searched the house of Daw Nyaung
Khan Dain of Monlai Village, Kale Township, and seized a total of 360 bottles
with 36 litres of Phensedyl hidden in a barn next to the house on 2 August.
The authorities also arrested
owner of the Phensedyl Pao Lyan Htan residing at the same village. Action is
being taken against Daw Nyaung Khan Dain, 39, daughter of U Htaung Za Kyin, and
Pao Lyan Thang, 40, son of U Htan Za Lan, under Section 15/19 (A)/21 of Narcotic
Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the Kale police station. Similarly,
acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of local intelligence
unit and Bhamo Special Anti-drug Squad searched pedestrian Daw Suan Lut Htu on
the township administration office street in Lweje on 10 August and seized
218.02 grams of heroin kept in the 10 soap containers.
In connection with the case,
action is being taken against Daw Suan Lut Htu, 42, daughter of U Suan Lut Naw
of Ward 4, Lweje, under Section 15/19 (A) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances Law by the Lweje police station.

Stimulant tablets seized in
Toungoo
Yangon, 10 Sept
– A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Bago Special
Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information, searched Marmad (a) Maung Maung Lat, 40,
son of U Tin Maung of Komthegyi Street, who was riding a bicycle and arrested
him together with 195 stimulant tablets at the corner of Bohmu Po Kun Street and
Pagoda Street on 21 July.
Further information led to the
arrest of Yunut (a) Myint Oo, son of U Hla Myint, of Thamada Ward, Htantabin and
Than Soe, 39, son of U Thaung of Changyi Village, Htantabin. Action is being
taken against the three under Section 15/19 (A)/21 of Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Law. Similarly, another combined team searched Kyaw Win,
43, son of U Tun Shwe, of Lebu Village, Toungoo Township and arrested him
together with 537 stimulant tablets.
Further information led to the
arrest of Han Htet Zaw, son of U Saw Aung, of Phalan Kon Village, Toungoo
Township. Action is being taken against the two under Section 15/19 (A)21 of
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Stimulant tablets and raw opium seized

9 Sept – A combined team of members of local intelligence unit and Hpa-an
Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, arrested Ma Maw on 27 July
together with 125 stimulant tablets in a plastic bag in Myitta Street, Ward 4,
Myawady.
Action was taken against Ma Maw, 25, daughter of U Tha Aung
of Myothit , Ward 4, Myawady and her husband Thant Zaw, 26, son of U Maung Aye
and Naing Win, 33, son of U Ni Tut of Ohn Taw Ward, Min Let Pan Village, Myawady
under Section 15/19 (A)/20 (A)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
substances Law. Likewise, another combined team on 30 July searched Ma Aye Let
on Mandalay-Myitkyina Up train and seized 3.87 kilos of raw opium hidden in 18
coconuts.
In connection with the case, action was taken against Ma Aye
Let, 39, daughter of U Bo Than of Nyaung Pin Tha Village, ChaungU Township under
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Heroin blocks seized in Pangsan
Yangon,
8 Sept – A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and
Muse Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, searched a van with number
plates 8Ka/1003 driven by Mala at the entrance of Pangsan at 9 am on 22 July
2002 and seized 38 blocks of heroin weighing 14.44 kilos hidden in the car.
Pangsan Police Station filed Mala, 50, son of U La Yaung of
Ward 8 in Pangsan and Law Woo (a) Lauk Woo (a) Li Woo (a) Li Lauk Kyaung of
Panlon 1st Lane, Kaunghmulwe Ward, Muse Township and Lwekhan village of Kutkai
Township, under the Sections 15/ 19 (A)/ 20 (A) of Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Law.
Similarly, a combined team comprising members of the local
intelligence unit and Muse Special Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information,
searched a van with number plate 8Ka/1874 driven by Tang Gun (a) Mar Tang at the
entrance of Pangsan at 9 am on 22 July 2002 and seized 44 blocks of heroin
weighing 16.72 kilos hidden in the car. Pangsan Police Station filed Tang Gun
(a) Mar Tang, 33, son of U Zaw Maw of Namhpatat village, Kyukok; Mala, 50, son
of U La Yaung of Ward 8 in Pangsan; and Law Woo (a) Lauk Woo (a) Li Woo (a) Li
Lauk Kyaung of Panlon 1st Lane, Kaunghmulwe Ward, Muse Township and Lwekhan
village of Kutkai Township, under the Sections 15/ 19 (A)/ 20 (A)/ 21 of
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Heroin, stimulant tablets and
marijuana seized
Yangon, 7 Sept –
A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Myitkyina
Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on a tip-off, searched the house of Soe Myat and
Ma Pyone (a) Khin Pyone Mar of Hnget Pyaw Taw village, Phakant Township and
seized 110.93 grams of heroin and 2,433 stimulant tablets on 18 July.
Similarly, a combined team
comprising members of local intelligence unit and Bhamo Special Anti-drug Squad,
acting on a tip-off, searched Laphai Yawzet (a) Naw Taung of Three-mile Village,
Bhamo Township and seized 65.32 grams of heroin. And a combined team comprising
members of local intelligence unit and Taunggyi Special Anti-drug Squad, acting
on information, intercepted a vehicle with number plates Sa/6036 en route from
Hopong to Taunggyi at entrance gate to Taunggyi and seized 6.6 kilos of heroin
from passenger Tin Thein (a) Chit Shein on 19 August.
A combined team comprising
members of local intelligence unit and the local police force, acting on
information, arrested U Kyin together with 4.899 kilos of marijuana near
Dinetaya village, Pyu Township on 28 August. Action is being taken against them
under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Mandalay
Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on a tip-off, searched Kalar (a) Nyunt Thein,
son of U Hla Gyi on 35th Street, Chanayethazan Township, and seized 10 stimulant
tablets on 10 July 2002.
Similarly, a combined team
comprising members of local intelligence unit and Myitkyina Special Anti-drug
Squad, acting on a tip-off, searched the house of U Wan-in Dusin Wa, son of U
Wan-in Dula Raung of No 214, Kinsar Ward, Tanai, and seized 506.23 grams of
opium. And a combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Local Police Force, acting on information, searched an Express Bus with number
plates 5kha/6669 driven from Taunggyi to Mandalay at Kalaw tollgate and arrested
Ohn Shein, son of U San Nyein at seat No-12 together with 12.2469 kilos of raw
opium.
Action is being taken against
them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

local police force, acting on information, searched Saw Tha Htoo Luu who got off
from a motor boat at Kwinchaung Jetty in Penwegon on 25 July and seized 4.898
kilos of marijuana, hidden in a plastic container. Action is being taken against
Saw Tha Htoo Luu, 38, son of U Saw Moe Kyut of Thitchaseik Village, Kyaukkyi
Township, under Section 15/19(A) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances
Law by the Penwegon police station.

Stimulant tablets seized in Kengtung
Yangon,
3 Sept – A combined team made up of members of local intelligence unit and
Kengtung Special Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information, searched the house of
Sai Kham Hsai in Kyaingka Village, Kengtung Township, at 8.15 pm on 15 July and
arrested Sai Kham Hsai, Ma Ar Sun Tar, Sai Ywet and Ar Soe together with 110
stimulant tablets.
The Kengtung Police Station is taking action against Sai Kham
Hsai, 43, son of U Lwe Kho of Ward 2, Kyaingka Village, Kengtung Township, Ma Ar
Sun Tur, 23, daughter of U Kya Lu, Sai Ywet, 25, son of U Lon Pein, and Ar Soe,
18, son of U Shan Mwe and their accomplice Kya Yaw, 35, son of U Kya Htaw of
Naungkon Village, Ketpha Village-tract, Kengtung Township, under Section 15/16

Heroin seized in Muse

angon, 3 Sept – Acting on information, a
combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit, Myanmar Police
Force and local nationals, intercepted and searched two pedestrians, coming from
Manwain Village, Muse Township, on the bank of Nampaw Creek in Muse, Shan State
(North), on 22 August. The authorities seized Yan Ei of Tonsa Village, Lonkhun
Township, China, together with 0.44 kilo of heroin kept in 22 soap boxes, while
the other managed to escape. In connection with the case, action is being taken
against the culprit under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by
the police station concerned.

Stimulant tablets seized in Myawady, Tachilek
Yangon,
2 Sept – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Hpa-an
Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on a tip-off, searched the house of Ma Nan Thet
Htwe (a) Jambon of Ward-5, Myawady, and seized 80 stimulant tablets packed in a
plastic bag which was thrown away by her at that time on 19 July.
Action is being taken against Ma Nan Thet Htwe, 25, daughter
of U Khin, under section 15/19 (A)/20 (A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances Law by Myawady Police Station. Similarly, a combined team consisting
of members of local intelligence unit and Tachilek Special Anti-Drug Squad,
acting on information, searched Daw Htay Htay’s house at No 14/78, Ngwe Zedi
Street, Ponhtun Ward, Tachilek, on 18 July and seized 209 stimulant tablets.
In connection with the case, action is being taken against
Daw Htay Htay, 46, daughter of U Nyunt Shwe under section 15/19 (A) of the
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by Tachilek Police Station.

seized in Kutkai
Yangon,
2 Sept – A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and
Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, intercepted a motorcycle driven by
Win Shin (a) Ar Shin, of No 82/83, Ward 3, Kutkai, near Ya Su Thit guest house
in Kutkai Township on 17 July and seized 41,800 stimulant tablets. Action is
being taken against Win Shin (a) Ar Shin under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances Law by the police station concerned.

Yangon, 1, Sept
– A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Yangon
Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on a tip-off, searched the house of Kalagyi (a)
Htay Aung, son of U Myint Oo of No 105 , building No-2, Banyadala Street, Aung
Mingala Ward, Tamway Township and seized 5.916 grams of heroin.
Action is being taken against
Kalagyi (a) Htay Aung, 40, and his accomplice Soe Nyunt, 35, son of U Thaung of
No 49, Mogaung Pagoda Street, Ward-14, Yankin Township under Section 15/19
(A)/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by Tamway Police
Station.
Similarly, a combined team
comprising members of local intelligence unit and Myitkyina Special Anti-drug
Squad, acting on information, seized LaPai Zaw Pon, 25, son of U John Zaw Hsai
of Ward-4, Hsenwi with 19744 stimulant tablets. Action is being taken against
him under Section 15/19(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law
by Phakant Police Station.
