Special Refresher Courses for Basic Education Teachers Opened

Chairman of the Myanmar Education Committee Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council, Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt delivered an address at the opening ceremony of Special Refresher Course No 44 for Basic Education Teachers at Nawarat Hall of the Central Institute of Civil Service in Hlegu Township, Yangon Division, on 18 May.

Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt noted among other points that in the social sector, special attention is being paid to improvement of the standard of health and education for emergence of education and health systems that will help materialize the objective Uplift of health, fitness and education standard of the entire people.

The Education Committee Chairman said that it was necessary to train youth to understand and value Myanmar social norms such as loving kindness, sympathy, kindness, politeness, compassion, nobility, the will to serve other’s interests, humanitarian duties and humanitarian codes of conduct so as to protect them against possessing wrong beliefs, such as assuming that material progress alone and wealth and undisciplined freedom were modernization and development.

Similarly ,the opening ceremony of Special Refresher Course No 10 for Basic Education Teachers was held at Yadana Hall of the Central Institute of Civil Service ( Upper Myanmar) in Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Manadalay Division, on 19 May. The Chairman of the Myanmar Education Committee Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt said among other things, that in accordance with the guidance of the Head of State, arrangements have been made for implementation of a 30-year long-term plan designed to establish an education system of international standard; to turn out human resources capable of building the nation into a peaceful, modern and developed nation and safeguarding it; to nurture the youth to become stalwart and mature citizens imbued with the Union Spirit and patriotism; to develop worthy citizens who are able to work for the development of the entire human society; and to establish a constant learning society.
