Ephedrine powder weighing 180 kilos
YANGON,
15 Feb – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, searched the house at Nagyi-2/67 on
62nd Street between Swedaw and Thataphi Streets, Myothit Nagyi Ward,
Chanmyathazi Township, on 21 January.
They seized owner of the house U Do Kham’s son
Thong Hsong Pyong, U Um Za Dal’s son Khote Hlyan Mon of Panlong Ward 9, Kalay, U
Ciin Lyan Thang’s son Ciin Do Mon (a) Hla Aung of Panglong Ward 8, Kalay, U Soe
Win’s son Htoo Min Win of Aungmyethazan, Mandalay and U Nan Lyan Phon’s son
Khaing Khant Pong of Myoma Ward, Tiddim, with four packets of Ephedrine powder
weighing five kilos hidden in the water tank in the compound and American-made
one .25 pistol, one magazine and six rounds of ammunition hidden in the ceiling
of the kitchen.

According to their confession, the authorities
seized five bags of Ephedrine powder weighing 180 kilos at No Hsa/15 on 8th
Kywehsekan Street in Chanmyathaya Ward, Pyigyidagun, on 23 January, and two bags
of Ephedrine powder weighing 20 kilos at No Sa Sa-3/19 on 57th Street in
Kanthaya Ward, Chanmyathazi Ward, Mandalay, on 25 January.
Action is taken against them under the
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
