19,925 stimulant
tablets seized in Taunggyi

Traffickers together with 19,925 seized
stimulant tablets.

YANGON,
24 Feb – A total of 100 packets containing 19,925 stimulant tablets were seized
in a house on Yadana Lane, Nyaungphyu Sakhanyat Ward, Taunggyi, Shan State, on
16 February.

Acting on a tip-off, the team comprising
members of the regional Defence Services Intelligence unit and Myanmar Police
Force searched the house of Aik Nwe (a) Naw Kham (a) Kyaw Myint Htoo.

The authorities there found three men Hsaing
Lin of 15, Mingala Street, Kantha Ward, Taunggyi, Sai Mya Ohn, of 124,
Thirimingala Street, Yayayegwin Ward, Taunggyi, and Aung Min Oo (a) Aung Lin Oo
of Nya-1309, Hninsi Street, Nyaung-phyu street with the drugs and arrested the
men who are believed to have been engaged in drug trafficking.

On further investigation, the authorities
concerned arrested Nang Kham Yon of Ma/651, Ywethla Street, Nyaungphyu Sakhan
Ward, who were dealing in drug trade as a broker and Sai Phon Lu of Kyauktaing
Street Ward 1, Panglong, who was staying at the Nang Kham Yon’s and who was
owner of the drugs.

Action is being taken against them under the
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
