7 Feb – Members of local intelligence unit while waiting on 35th Street between
84th and 85th Streets in Maha-aungmye Township on 29 January, nabbed drug
traffickers U Nan (a) Nan Doe Thang, 49, son of U San Kho Hauk of Panglong Ward,
Kalay Township, and Maung Myint, 38, son of U Ba Taw of Buta Myothit Ward in
Kalay together with 17 packets of Ephedrine powder weighing 80 kilos.
The Ephedrine powder can be used
in producing stimulant tablets.
According to their confession,
authorities nabbed Thang Lyan Ha, 48, at Kyaukhninsi Inn on 27th Street between
82nd and 83rd Streets in Chanayethazan and Pa Thang, 27, at Myoma Inn on 80th
Street between 25th and 26th Streets in Aungmyethazan.
Action is taken against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
