5.95 kgs of raw opium seized in
Kutkai Township
Chauk Te of Lashio nabbed with opium weighing 5.95 kilos
in Kutkai on 6 May.
YANGON,
19 May – A combined team comprising local intelligence unit and Myanmar Police
Force, acting on information, waiting near Kholon Village Kutkai Township, Shan
State (North), stopped two men on 6 May 2000. Meanwhile, one dropped his
knapsack which contained 2.65 kgs in three packets of raw opium, and fled. The
team seized the other one, Chauk Te, son of U Ywet Kyoun, Ward 7, Lashio,
together with 3.3 kgs in three packets of raw opium.
Action is being taken against him
under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
