Chemicals used in narcotic drug
refinery seized in Namhkam
YANGON,
4 May – A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and Myanmar Police
Force, acting on information stopped a car without a number plate on 18 April
and searched it. Sai Than Win Hlaing of Sayaytan Ward, Namhkam was at the whells
and Lauksan of Pansay Village, Namhkam Township was the passenger.
Chemicals used in refining
narcotic drugs siz drums of Ether, 66 containers of Sulphuric acid, 33 bags of
quick lime were seized.
Upon investigation, the
authorities searched the house of Mya Tun (a) Lauk Pha and wife Ma Laung Yo (a)
Ma Khin Saw, the owners of the chemicals, at No 38, Sayaytan Ward, Namhkam and
arrested them together with K 16 million and 32 ticals of gold, and arrested Ah
Myint, Kyaw Myint, Maung Win and Tonshin who arrived there to carry the
chemicals.
Action has being taken against
the eight in accord with Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
