2,292,000 stimulant tablets, arms and

ammunition seized in Tachilek

Yangon, 3 Nov – A combined team comprising members of local

intelligence unit and Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, searched the

house of Aik Sai of No 27, Lun Kyaing Village, Haunglek Village-tract, Tachilek

Township, Shan State (East) on 27 October and arrested Lauk Li, son of U Li Pha

Ta of Pansan, Ar Lone, son of U Ah Chan, of Wanlwe Village, Pansan, Ar San, son

of U Lauk Aye of Pansan, Ma Ar Yi, daughter of U Ba, of Ward-5, Lashio who were

at the house together with 1,852,000 stimulant tablets, one kilo of caffeine

powder that are used in making stimulants, two pistols, two magazines, 14 rounds

of ammunition and one vehicle (1Kha/8847). Further information led to the search

of the house of Daw May Phone, daughter of U Kya Saw, of Lun Kyaing Village, and

the authorities arrested Daw May Phone, Aik San, son of U Lauk Aye, of Pansan,

Ar San, son of U Wan Lauk Aye, of Mattan Village, Tachilek and Aik Yi, son of U

San Nwun, of Pansan who were at the house together with 440,000 stimulant

tablets, 0.6 kilo of ephedrine powder, 3.4 kilos of caffeine powder, two

pistols, two magazines and 17 rounds of ammunition. Action is being taken

against the eight under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
