Chemical liquid seized in Laukkai

30 July – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit, Myanmar
Police Force and Shan State (North) Special Region-1, acting on information,
stopped a Hilux vehicle carrying chemical liquid in Chinshwehaw on 19 July this
year. But the vehicle escaped. After the hot pursuit, the authorities seized the
vehicle together with 120 litres of Acetic Anhydride and 400 litres of
chloroform at the exit of Kongyan in Myothit (West), Laukkai. But, the two men
on board fled the scene.
Action is being taken in connection
with the seizure of chemical liquid and precursor chemicals under the Narcotic
Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the police station concerned.
