Raw opium seized in Tamu
Yangon, 7 July –
A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and the local
Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, stopped the two suspicious-looking
men near Chaungnetgyi Village in Tamu Township on 24 June. The two men fled the
scene, leaving a knapsack. The team inspected the knapsack and seized 1 kilo of
raw opium. Action is being taken under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances Law by the police station concerned.
