3,997 stimulant tablets seized in Phakant
Yangon,
17 June – On 1 June, a combined team comprising members of local intelligence
unit and Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, stopped and searched a
four-wheel drive vehicle at the check point in Tamakhan village, Phakant
Township, Kachin State. The authorities seized Aung Myint, who was on board the
car, together with 3,997 stimulant tablets. Action is being taken against Aung
Myint, son of U Than Shwe of No 1/11, Ward-1, Seikmu Village, Phakant Township
under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the police station
concerned.
