0.76 kilos of heroin seized in Muse

Yangon, 27 June

– A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Myanmar

Police Force, acting on tip-off, stopped and searched a Jeep at Namtkaung

village, Muse township, Shan State (North) on 16 June and seized 43 soap boxes

containing 0.76 kilos of heroin and arrested Phonelechan, the driver, son of U

Phonekyinhone of No 7, Ward 5, Kyukok (Pansai), and Yawseinkon, son U Yawyinphu

of No 44, Ward 6, Kyugok (Pansai). Action is being taken against them under

Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the police station concerned.
