Drug traffickers arrested in
Mongshu

24 March – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Myanmar Police Force, acting on a tip-off, searched the house of Xiao Yi, son of
U Lian Aye of Kaung Keit Village in Mongshu Township, Shan State (South), on 8
March and arrested Myint Aung, son of U Son Lon, and Ah Hua, son of U Luo Seim,
and Xiao Yi together with 4.735 kilos of raw opium and K 20,000. The combined
team also searched the house of Hong Jian Shi, son of U Hong Ki Fong of Kaung
Keit Village and arrested him and Aik Hsan, son of U Kyaw Hon Shein of the same
village, together with 18.615 kilos of raw opium and K 22,500. Action is being
taken against them under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the
police station concerned.
