Raw opium seized
Yangon,
31 March – combined group comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Kengtung Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, searched the house of
Kyalaw in Tamyay Village in Kengtung Township on 4 March 2002 and found 4.6
kilos of raw opium in the bedroom. Kengtung Police Station has filed Kyalaw, 63,
son of U Law Si, under Section 15/16 (C)/ 19 (A) of the Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Law.
