Stimulant tablets seized in Lashio

Yangon, 22 May –

A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Myanmar Police

Force, acting on information that a deal of narcotic drugs would be made on the

Circular Road of Ward 1, Lashio, Shan State (North), lay in wait there on 9 May.

The authorities stopped one Myint Naing, son of U Tin Oo of Ward 9, Lashio, and

Daw Sein Win, daughter of U Maung Kyaing of Ayethaya Myothit, Taunggyi, and

found 30,000 stimulant tablets on them. On further investigation, Daw Khin

Thaung Myint, daughter of U Tin Oo, was also arrested. Action is being taken

against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the

police station concerned.
