6 kilos of heroin seized in
Mandalay
Yangon,
29 Sept – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Mandalay Special Anti-Drug Squad on 7 August, acting on a tip-off, searched a
taxi on 34th street between 73rd and 74th streets in Chanayethazan Township,
Mandalay, and discovered a total of 17 blocks of heroin weighing six kilos
hidden in the backpact of two drug traffickers who were on board.
In connection with the case,
No 8 Police Station, Mandalay, filed the two drug traffickers Ñ Khin Maung Aye,
son of U Mya Aung, of Bogyoke Road, Aungmingla Ward, Kalay, and Tun Naing, son
of U Gyan Maw Haw, of Ward-8, Lashio Ñ under Section 15/19 (A)/20 (A)/21 of
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
9.03 kilos of morphine seized
in Hsipaw
YANGON,
27 Sept – A combined team comprising members of Local Intelligence Unit and
Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, on 11 September, stopped and
searched a motorcycle with number plate (1Ya/35252) driven by Saing Aung Shwe
together with Ma Nan Shwe Moon at Kyinthi bridge, Kyinthi village, Hsibaw
township and seized them with 9.03 Kilos of morphine.
In connection
with the case, action was being taken against Saing Aung Shwe, son of U Sam Lu
of Kantgaw street, plot No 6, Hsibaw and Ma Nan Shwe Moon, daughter of Aik Sin
Khan at the same street under Section of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances Law by the MPF concerned.

YANGON,
27 Sept – A combined team comprising members of Local Intelligence Unit and
Lashio Special Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information, on 20 August, searched
the house of Chin Kyein Hua, Naunglon village, Mehan village tract, Lashio but
he managed to escape.
The authorities
seized Chwin Kyin Pha (a) Yan Naing, Ar Phu (a) Khee Lauk Phu and Ma Ar Shan (a)
Ma Chwin Kyin Shan together with 23600 stimulant tablets bearing WY letters put
in bamboo basket and one home-made gun. In connection with the case, action was
taken against Chwin Kyin Pha (a) Yan Naing, son of U Chwin Shout Kyin of
Naunglon village, Mehan village tract, Ar Phu (a) Khee Lauk, son of U Khee Phar
Shin of Phu of Holi village, Konlon township and Ma Ar Shan (a) Ma Chwin Kyin
Shan, daughter of U Ar Lyan of the same village under Section 15/19(A)/21/22(B)
of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by Lashio No1 Police Station.
Drug trafficker
gets jail term
YANGON,
23 Sept – Yangon District (North) Court on 8 August sentenced U Hla Oo to 20
years imprisonment under Section 19 (A) of Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic
Substances Law on 8 August.
A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Yangon Special
Anti-drug Squad, acting on a tip-off, on 6 March searched his dwelling of No 84,
Thuka Street, Ywama Ward in Insein Township and seized 57.15 grams of marijuana.
In connection with the case, Insein Police Station filed him by the law.
Stimulant
tablets seized in Lashio
Yangon, 19 Sept — Acting on
information, a combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit
and the Lashio Anti-drug Squad, searched the house of Kuan Hong Pang, Ward 5,
Lashio, on 18 August. The authorities found there Kuan Hong Pang, Daw Khuan Mei
Xian and Yan Xi Hai and seized 236,000 stimulant tablets bearing the letters WY
hidden inside a barrel in the kitchen.
The Lashio No 1 Police Station has filed lawsuits against Kuan Hong Pang, 42,
son of U Huan Pi Mao of Ward 5, Lashio; Daw Khuan Mei Xian, 42, daughter of U
Myin Ta; and Yan Xi Hai, 36, son of U Yan Luo Chin. Action is being taken
against the drug pushers under Sections 15/19(A)/21 of Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Law.
153 kilos of
Ephedrine seized in Mandalay
YANGON,
18 Sept – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Mandalay special anti-drug squad, acting on a tip-off, on 1 August searched the
house of Kyaw Hlaing (a) Dha Hlyan of No 895, between 64th and 65th Streets and
between 32nd Streets and 31st Streets, Pyigyimyetshin Ward of Chanayethazan
Township, Mandalay Division, and seized 153 kilos of ephedrine and also arrested
Ma Shwe Pah, a drug broker, who was on the house.
In connection
with the case, action is being taken against Kyaw Hlaing and Ma Shwe Pah,
daughter of U Sunma, of Yankalo Village, Falam Township in Chin State, by No 3
Police Station, Mandalay, under Section 19 (A)/21 of Narcotic Drug and
Psychotropic Substances Law.
Heroin blocks
seized in Mongkoe, Kengtung
YANGON,
18 Sept – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
special anti-drug squad in Mongkoe, Shan State (North) on 2 September searched
La Kwan, son of U Lauk Al of Lwekan Village, Mongkoe Township, and seized him
together with 10 blocks of heroin weighing 3.56 kilos.
Similarly, on 7
September, a combined team intercepted a Toyota Hilux with number plates 2Ka/
1948 en route from Lashio to Kengtung near Tapin check point in Kengtung
Township and seized 57 blocks of heroin weighing 19 kg hidden in a car. The
authorities arrested Hsan Hmat (a) Pyi Saw, son of U Aik Saw, of Nantsam Road,
Ward-5, Lashio, who was on board. However, Law Ka (a) Shar Chan, a driver,
managed to escape. Police station concerned filed them under Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Law.
3.2 kilos of
marijuana seized
YANGON,
12 Sept – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence Unit, Bago
Special Anti-Drug Squad and Bago No1 Police Station stopped and searched a bus
with number plates (4Kha/4648) heading to Yangon from Toungoo at Polan check
point, Bago Township on 31 July afternoon and seized passengers Daw Mya Kyi and
Ma San Aye (a) Ma Than Nwe with 3.2 kilos of marijuana inside their baskets.
In connection
with the case, action was taken against Daw Mya Kyi, daughter of U Aung Thet of
Ngwetaw Village, Kyaukkyi Township, Ma San Aye (a) Ma Than Nwe, daughter of U
Win Maung of the same village under Sections 15/19(A)/21 of Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Law by Bago No 1 Police Station.
Stimulant
tablets seized in Phakant
YANGON,
4 Sept – Acting on a tip-off, a combined team comprising members of the local
intelligence unit and the Myitkyina special anti-drug squad raided the house of
Maung Kyin Lin and Ma Swe Kawt in Ward-1, Hseikmu Village, Phakant Township, at
11 pm on 26 July. The authorities found there Maung Kyin Lin, Ma Swe Kawt and Ma
Phyu Nu and discovered 1,180 stimulant tablets and 5 grams of stimulant powder.
Further investigation into the case led to the arrest of Ma Thaung Le (a) Ar Le,
drug pusher.
The Phakant
Police Station has filed lawsuits against Kyin Lin, son of U Yan Hmi Hsan of
Hseikmu village; Ma Swe Kawt, daughter of U Hsi Te Tai; Ma Phyu Nu, daughter of
U Wae; and Ma Thaung Le, daughter of U Thaung Chi, under Sections 15/19(A)/21 of
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and action is being taken
against the drug dealers.
Raw opium,
heroin seized in Hopang, Muse
YANGON,
4 Sept – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Myanmar Police Force, acting on a tip-off, on 18 August stopped and searched a
motorcycle being ridden by Maung La Shee Ting Ring, son of U La Shee Baw Tain of
Myazeya Ward, Hopang, at the toll gate in Hopang and seized 14.14 kilos of raw
opium.
Similarly, local
authorities on 25 August searched a house in Kaung-mulwe Ward, Muse, Shan State
(North) and arrested eight drug dealers-six Myanmar nationals and two Chinese
nationals- together with 2.059 kilos of heroin.
In connection
with the cases, the police stations concerned filed the drug dealers under the
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
Heroin seized
in Myeik
Yangon,
1 Sept – A combined team comprising members of Taninthayi Division Anti-drug
Squad and Myeik Myoma Police Station, acting on information, searched Myo Aung’s
shop for motorcycle repair in Myayni Street, Kanpya Ward, Myeik, on 28 July and
seized six packets of speciosa weighing 0.3429 kilos hidden in the pile of tyres.
Further information led to the arrest of U Tin Kywe together with 73 packets of
speciosa weighing 4.17 kilos stashed in the compound of Nyi Nyi’s house on
Sapagyi Streeet, Yaypon Ward, Myeik.
Myeik Myoma
Police Station is taking action against Myo Aung, son of U Yu Tin of Myayni
Street, Kanpya Ward, Myeik and U Tin Kywe, son of U Tin Maung of Sapagyi Streeet,
Yaypon Ward, Myeik under section 15/19(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances Law.
