Two more heroin refineries exposed

ANGON, 18 April-Acting on information, a local Tatmadaw column combed an area between Heymoelon and Namsu
at map reference (P 193993) in Muse Township, Shan State (North) and found a hut used in refining heroin and seized
paraphernalia which included 17 plastic containers of chemical liquid (162 litres), six plastic containers of ether (54 litres),two
plastic containers of spirit (36 litres) and other paraphernalia including 15 retorts.

      Similarly, a combined team including members of local intelligence unit, Myanmar Police Force and Tatmadaw members,
acting on information, searched Ta Mong Nge Village in Kutkai Township, Shan State (North) and stopped and searched a
car (Ah/ 2575) which was on its way from Kutkai to Ta Mong Nge.
      They arrested Yanshi Hlyan, 20, son of U Yan Lauk of Tetkanine Village, Kutkai Township, together with two steel retorts
used in refining narcotic drugs.
      Upon further information, the team searched Hophet Village in Kutkai Township and found a point to be used in refining drugs
at map reference (0-956483) and seized paraphernalia including 28 barrels of spirit (5,040 litres), 28 containers of chemical
liquid (630 litres), ten barrels of liquid ether (1,8(00 litres), 196 plastic containers of sulphuric acid (3,528 litres), four barrels
and 36 plastic containers of kerosene (1,350 litres),14 small plastic containers of sodium hydride,18 medium plastic
containers of sodium hydride and , other paraphernalia.
