BRIEF

HISTORY

   The

National Museum of the Union of Myanmar was first opened in June, 1952 at

the Jubilee Hall Building on Shwedagon Pagoda Road, Yangon. It was shifted

to and opened at 24/26 Pansodan Street Building on 8th February, 1970.

Construction of the present National Museum Building at 66/74 Pyay Road,

Dagon Township, on 23rd June, 1990. This costs over (4951Lakhs) Kyats. The New National Museum has been opened to the public from

(18-9-96).
