Industrial Zones in Sagaing and Mandalay Divisions

Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt visited Industrial Zones in Sagaing and Mandalay Divisions on 19 May.

Adviser to Hong Pang Industrial Zone Engineer U Myint Aung gave an account of the set up of the Hong Pang company, industrial work-textile and garment, production of electronic goods, production of gas lighters, processing of agricultural produce, production of compact discs-construction, agriculture and livestock breeding work in Htonepho region in Patheingyi, Thibaw, Nawnghkio and PyinOo Lwin township and gem mining work.

Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt inspected the Htonepho agriculture farm of Hong Pang Group in Patheingyi, and the Texitle and Garment Factory in Hong Pang Industrial Zone. The Factory covers 75,980 square feet. Production work is being carried out by a work force of 300 workers. End products are being fully distributed in local markets. Similarly Hong Pang Wire Factory of Hong Pang Electronic Industries Limited will be producing various kinds of wires and cables, telephone wires , fluorescent lamps, frames for lamps, chokes, fans, switches and electrical parts after completion of the installation. The Secretary-1 and party inspected Video Compact Disc Factory of Hong Pang CD Co Ltd. The factory is 8,100 square feet. Blank and recorded VCDs are being produced by 21 workers and distributed in the local market.The Secretary-1 and party also inspected Thein Zaw and Brother’s Vehicle Assembly Workshop where he viewed the prototype for Mandalay Royal Jeep. The jeep is slated for production in 2002-2003 fiscal year.
