The Chairman of the Myanmar Education Committee Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt addressed the graduation and dinner of the fourth group of MBA graduates on 19 May. He said that in order to produce business management experts in Myanmar the Yangon Institute of Economics inaugurated MBA courses in 1995. Six courses have been opened of which four have been completed. He said that there are altogether 180 MBA graduates in Myanmar of which 12 are working in government departments, seven in foreign firms, eight in UN Agencies and Organizations, 108 in local companies and 45 in private business.
He said the government is implementing a special four year project for promotion of national education beginning from 2000-2001 fiscal year. Various committees comprising over 700 well-known, learned and veteran scholars have been formed in order to produce outstanding human resources that can bring about national development, he revealed.
