Education Policy

The State Peace and Development Council is implementing a special four- year national education promotion plan and 30 year long term plan in the higher education sector in order to develop, at the higher education level, the human resources who have been nurtured at the basic education level.

Master degree courses and doctorate degree courses for various subjects are being opened.

Altogether 14 doctorate degree courses are being opened at the Institutes of medicines, 15 doctorates degree courses at Yangon University , nine

doctorate degree courses at Mandalay University, three doctorate degree courses at the Institute of Economics, 15 doctorate degree courses at Technological Universities, and arrangements have been made to open more doctorate degree courses.
There are altogether 33 persons on whom universities in Myanmar conferred doctorates.
