Stimulant tablets
seized in Hpa-an

15 Nov – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, searched the Nissan truck with
number plate 4a/1690 driven by Kyaw Lin Aung (a) Li Sin Lin, son of U Lauk Lu of
No 219, Ward 3, Kutkai Township and Kyaw Kyaw Aung (a) Chwin Thaik Chan, who was
in that car, son of U Chwin San Myint of Ward 3, Kutkai Township, and seized
6,850,000 stimulant tablets bearing WY letters, at the Thanlwin Bridge in Hpa-an,
Kayin State on 13 October. On further investigation, Aik Tun (a) Ar Li, son of U
Law Lu of Ward 3, Tangyan, Pyin Chaung, son of U Liu Shin of Ward 3, Tangyan and
Win Toh, son of U Aik Yi of Ward 7, Lashio, were also arrested at Power Hotel in
Maha Aungmye Township, Mandalay, in connection with the case. Action is being
taken against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by
the Police Station concerned.
