Precursor chemicals used for
drug production seized

5 Sept – Members of local intelligence unit and Myanmar Police Force, acting on
information, searched near Pankham creek in Muse Township, Shan State (North)
and found ownerless nine barrels containing 450 gallons of chloroform, a barrel
containing 50 gallons of acetic anhydride, 52 empty plastic containers and 20
plastic containers containing 100 gallons of chloroform on 15 August. The case
was put under investigation and the authorities arrested owner of the seized
precursor chemicals San Tun, son of U Tin Win, of Manpein Ward in Muse together
with a numberless Pajero near Pankham Village. Action is being taken against him
under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the police station
concerned.
