Nga-Ye-Pan Military Operation Phase 3
In destroying poppy fields in the Shan State, with Nga-Ye-Pan
Military Operations Phase 3, from 6 November -l 982 to 15 March 1983,
in 26 townships of the North Eastern Command and Eastern Command
regions, the Tatmadaw destroyed 7455.36 acres of poppy fields with the
support of the police forces and the local people’s militia. In that
operation Tatmadaw lost 4 men and 1 injured. From the enemy side, 8
were killed, 1 apprehended and 3 arms seized.
