Stimulant tablets pusher jailed

Nov – A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and Hpa-an

Township special anti-drug squad, acting on information, searched the house of

Ma Khin Khin Wai of No 31, Gantgaw Street, Mupun, Mawlamyine, at 11.30 am on 12

May and seized 1,188 stimulant tablets in a baggage. The Mupun Police Station

filed Ma Khin Khin Wai, 40, daughter of U Byawt Oo of No 31, Gantgaw Street,

Mupun, Mawla-myine and Ko Myo (a) Myint Wai, 48, son of U Thein Maung and Maung

Khaing, 45, son of U Hoke Kin of No AD/12, Nandaunt Street, Monghsu under

Section 15/1 9(A)/2 1 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Mawlamyine District Court handed down on Ma Khin Khin Wai five years’

imprisonment under Section 15 and twenty years’ imprisonment under Section 19

(A) to serve separately, Ko Myo (a) Myint Wai five years’ imprisonment under

Section 15 and twenty years’ imprisonment under Section 19( A)

/21serveseperately  and Maung Khaing twenty years’ imprisonment under Section 1

21 Nov – A combined anti-drug control team, acting on information, searched the

house of Ma Moe Thee (a) Ma Moe Moe Khine of Ward 6, Intagaw, and seized 441 gm

of marijuana at 2.30 pm on 1 August 2000. Intagaw Police Station filed Ma Moe

Thee, 28, daughter of U Saw Maung of Ward 6, Intagaw, under Section 15/19(A) of

Narcotic Drugs and Psycho-tropic Substances Law.The Bago District Court

sentenced her to 15 years’ imprisonment under Section 19(A) on 30 October.

16 Nov – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and

Yangon Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information, searched one Than Kyaw Hla near

Thanthuma Market in Myittanyunt Ward, Tamwe Township and seized 977 stimulants

weighing 66.4 g at 7.30 pm on 19 November 2000. In connection with the case, the

Tamwe Police Station filed Than Kyaw Hla, 32, son of U San Hla of No 2, Bo Hmu

Aung Street, Bo Sein Hman Ward, Bahan Township under Section 15/19(A) of

Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. Yangon East District Court

handed down 20 years’ imprisonment under Section 19(A) of Narcotic Drugs and

Mandalay Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information, searched Tun Tun (a) Eidoe

sitting in Shwepyithit teashop at the corner of 28th Street and 75th Street in

Mandalay at 8 pm on 22 January, 2001, and seized 1,980 stimulants weighing 198

gms. Further investigation led to the arrest of Win Naing (a) Elian. Mandalay

Police Station No-8 filed Tun Tun (a) Eidoe, 21, son of U Hason of No-135

Pyigyikyetthayi west 24th street, Aungmyaythasan Township and Win Naing (a)

Elian, 23, son of U Maung Maung of Ward-2 14th street, PyinOoLwin Township under

first information report 3/2001 and Section 15/19(A)/20(A)/21 of Narcotic Drugs

and Psychotropic Substances Law. Mandalay District Court heard the case and

sentenced Tun Tun (a) Eidoe to 15 years imprisonment under Section 19 (A) and

Special Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information, searched the guest house at

Sulegon Ward in Monywa on 23 September morning 2000 and seized 209 100-mm

bottles of Phensedyl totalling 20.9 litres concealed in two iron buckets, a

flask and baskets from Ma Yi Yi Thein, Ma Khin Htay and Ma Khin Aye Myint. In

connection with the case, Monywa Police Station No 1 filed Ma Yi Yi Thein, 41,

daughter of U Cho of Aungmingalar Ward, Kalay, Ma Khin Htay, 34, and Ma Khin Aye

Myint, 42, daughters of U Hla Thaung of Aungthitsar Ward, the same town under

Section 15/19(A)/21 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. The

Monywa District Court handed down 12 years’ imprisonment on each of them under
