Drug traffickers sentenced
YANGON, 4 April-A combined team
comprising members of Yangon Special Anti-Drug Squad and Kamayut Police Station,
acting on information, on 25 September 2003, searched the house of Ma Soe Soe
Myint, of Apartment 301, Building 227, Sabai Maga Street, Ward 5, Kamayut
Township and arrested her and Than Soe, who was at the house, together with 39.8
grams of dried opium concealed in the house.
Action is being taken against Ma Soe Soe Myint, daughter of U Sein Han, of
Apartment 301, Building 227, Sabai Maga Street, Ward 5, Kamayut Township and
Than Soe, son of U San Aye, of No 300, Circular Road, Ward 3, Kalaw, under
Section 15/16 (C)/20 (A) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by
Kamayut Police Station.
Ma Soe Soe Myint and Than Soe were sentenced to 25 year’ imprisonment under
Section 20 (A) by Yangon West District Court on 16 February 2004.
