Ephedrine powder seized in Mandalay

YANGON,
28 Feb – Sixty kilos of ephedrine powder used in making stimulant tablets were
seized from a passenger bus in Maha Aungmye Township, Mandalay, on 15 February.
Members of the local Defence
Services Intelligence Unit acting on information stopped the mini-bus of
Shantaungdan Passenger Service at the corner of 82nd street and 38th and 39th
streets in the town and searched it.
The authorities found the drugs
in possession of driver Ko Toe (a) Toe Lwin Tun, son of U Tin Htut, of Sa-17,
Mahamyaing Ward 1, Maha Aungmye, and conductor Soe Min Oo, son of U Kyaw Sein,
of Ka-6, Ward 5, Chanmyathazi Township.
Action is being taken against taken against
the two in accord with Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
