26 Jan – Six packets of Ephedrine powder weighing 30 kilos were seized by
members of Defence Services Intelligence unit from four men near May Guest House
in Maha Aungmye Township, Mandalay, on 13 January.
Acting on a tip-off, the authorities saw four
men about to traffick in drugs . The four men were Khin Maung Htwe, 29, of
Shwekyin Village, Patheingyi Township, Thihan Kyu, 37, of 106, 80th Street,
between 12th and 13th Streets, Pyilon Chantha Ward, Aungmyaythazan Township
Mandalay, Tha Win Tun, 36, of 126, 80th Street, between 13th and 14th Streets,
Aungmyaythazan Township and Wan Shi Kyi, 33, Strand Road, Monywa.
They were arrested with the cache and a Nissan
Sunny Zamyinzwe/7994 was seized.
Action is being taken against them under the
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
