YANGON, 24
June – A combined team comprising local intelligence unit and Myanmar Police
Force, acting on information, waiting at Palaung Village, Phaya Ngahsu Region,
Lwesawnhtauk ward, Mongshu, Shan State (South) stopped and searched two suspects
Yan Shauk Khwi, son of U Yan Yit Paung and Kyaw Sein, son of U Twun Yin Hsai on
4 June and found 979 stimulant tablets bearing the words “WY”. On
further investigation, the team kept on waiting there and seized Ar Wai, son of
U Chaung Hlan, of the same village, together with 365 stimulant tablets bearing
the words “WY”.
Action was taken against them under Narcotic
Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
