329.67 kilos of raw
opium seized in Namhlan Township

2 Nov-A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit, Tatmadaw
unit and MPF, acting on information, stopped and searched a Hino (9 Ka/9019)
which left Mongkai near the entrance to the local battalion in Namhlan, Shan
State (North) on 19 October. The authorities arrested driver Sai Tun Sein, son
of U Lon Lu, of Kali Village, Hopan Village-tract, Konhein Township together
with 191 packets of raw opium weighing 329.67 kilos hidden in twelve containers,
and oil and water tanks of the car. Action was taken against him under the
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
