Heroin,
stimulant tablets seized in Tachilek 

YANGON,
2 Oct – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit, Tachilek
Anti-Drug Squad and local Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, searched
the house of Aik Ohn in Wankyauklon Village, Phanmin Village-tract, Tachilek
Township, at 9 am on 31 March 2000. The authorities seized two blocks of heroin
weighing 600 grams and orange colour ” WY ” brand 85,000 stimulant
tablets in the bedroom of the house. Under the investigation, owner of the
heroin and stimulant tablets Ah Hwa (a) Kyin Hwa and Nang Maw Kyan were
arrested. In this regard, Tachilek Police Station filed Aik Ohn, 47, son of U Ma
Ran of Wankyauklon Village, Tachilek Township, Ah Hwa (a) Kyin Hwa, 27, son of U
Paw Than Lwin of Panghon Village, Kunlong Township and Nang Maw Kyan, 19,
daughter of U Lon Kyaing, Wankyauklon Village, Tachilek Township under the
Sections 15/ 19 (A)/ 21 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
Tachilek District Court sentenced Aik Ohn and Nang Maw Kyan to 15 years’ 
imprisonment’s each under the Sections 19 (A)/ 21 and Ah Hwa (a) Kyin Hwa to 15
years’ under the Section 19 (A) on 28 July 2000.
