6.859 kilos of raw opium seized in Loikaw

Yangon, 11 June , A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit, Taunggyi Special Anti-Drug squad and local police force, acting on a tip-off, searched Pao Yadana Mini Bus No 3/Kha 8722 en route from Pinlaung to Taunggyi at toll gate at the Aungban-Loikaw fork on 22 May morning and seized 6.859 kilos of raw opium and a trousers of Myo Aung from the knapsack of Win Htaik. Myo Aung has escaped.
In connection with the case, action is being taken against Win Htaik, 18, son of U Ohn Hlaing of Phayapyu Village, Dimawhso Township, Kayah State and Myo Aung of Laei Village, Pekhon Township on first information report No 2/2002 and under section 15/19 (A) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by Kalaw Police
Station.
