tablets seized in Tamu

Yangon,

28 Jan — A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and

Tamu Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, on 24 December 2002

searched Naungkyar, Bahmon and Ye Lwin at the junction of Kyun Nguatto, in Tamu

and seized 190 stimulant tablets  in a plastic bag in the underwear of Naungkya

(a) Hsanghngar, an Indian citizen. In connection with the case, action is being

taken against Naungkya, 18, son of U Ibonhsar of No 197, Airport Road, Imphal,

India, Bahmon, 18, son of U Yar Lin of Kyar-in Village, Kalay Township, and Ye

Lwin, 23, son of U Hpaik Htan of Zaytan Ward 10 of Tamu  under Sections

15/19(A)/20(B)/21 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the Tamu

Police Station.

Narcotics, paraphernalia,

arms seized in Laukkai               

Yangon,

27 Jan — A combined team comprising local Tatmadawmen, local intelligence unit

and Myanmar Police Force members, acting on information, searched the house of

Yan San, western part of Padetha Market in Laukkai on 9 January.

Yan San managed to escape from

his house. But the team arrested Lauk Ei, son of U Li Shauk Chan of Nantkaw

Village in Laukkai Township and Yan Kyin Kham, son of U Ye Ei of Makyoti

Village, Kyasishu Village-tract, who were there. The two were seized with two

kilos of raw opium, 3,000 stimulant tablets, 1.5 kilos of Ephedrine, seven kilos

of ammonium chloride, one bottle of fragrance-enhancing powder, eight pyi of

poppy seeds, one ceramic funnel, one flask, one iron tray, four small trays, one

bell-mouthed pan, two enamel bowls, 16 plastic bags, four arms, three magazines

and 26 rounds of ammunition.

Action is taken against them

under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotrophic Substances Law.

seized in Nawnghkio

27 Jan — A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and

Lashio Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, on 6 January searched Ma

Nan Chaw (a) Ma Nujamar in carriage No 6 of No 132-down train en route from

Lashio to Mandalay between Naung Pain and Nawnghkio stations and seized 359.04

grams of heroin in 22 soap cases.

Action is being taken against

Ma Nan Chaw (a) Ma Nujamar, 51, daughter of U Mutu of room No 13, building No

122, between 29th and 30th streets, 75th and 76th streets, Mandalay under

section 15/19 (A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by

Nawnghkio Police Station.

Raw opium seized in Monghsu

Yangon,

25 Jan — A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and

Taunggyi Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on a tip-off, on 23 December 2002

searched Ma Nawsaphaw Ladynar at Mani Yadana Street in Monghsu and seized 4.735

kilos of raw opium in her basket. Action is being taken against Ma Nawsaphaw

Ladynar, 27, daughter of U Kyataw of Womsin Village, Kehsi Township under

Section 15/19 (A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by Loi

Saung Htauk Police Station.

Raw opium

seized in Phakant

Yangon,

19 Jan – A combined team comprising members of Local Intelligence Unit and

Myitkyina Special Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information, searched the house of

Shwe Ba, No 6/8, Tarma Village, Phakant Township, on 14 December 2002 and seized

him together with 816 grams of raw opium. In connection with the case, action is

being taken against Shwe Ba, 34, son of U Ba Kying by Phakant Police Station

under Section 15/19 (a) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Heroin seized

in Lashio

Yangon,

18 Jan – A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and

Lashio Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, on 3 January morning

searched the vehicle with number plates da / 1356 near Hopate village in Lashio

Township.

The authorities seized heroin

kept in 11 soap cases in the hand bag of Ma Jalat, 66 soap cases in 3 bags of

maize grain and 55 soap cases in the basket totalling 132 soap cases weighing

2.649 kilos of heroin. Action is being taken against Ma Jalat, 40, daughter of U

Zaw Maw of Jayan village in Lashio Township, and Ma Kaun Nue Nue of Namhu

village who is at large under Section 15/19 (A)/ 20(A)/21 of the Narcotic Drugs

and Psychotropic Substances Law by Lashio No 2 Police Station.

Heroin seized in Kyugok

Yangon,

17 Jan – A combined team comprising members of the local Intelligence unit and

Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, on 6 January searched Moe Pyar

guest house of Ward 8 in Kyuhkok (Pangsai), Shan State (North), arrested Ma

Shinlant (a) Arlant, daughter of U Kyinte of Shauktaw village in Kutkai Township

and Daw Shaukael, daughter of U Yanael of Mankan Village, Shauktaw Village-tract

together with ten blocks of heroin weighing 3.5 kilos. Action is being taken

against them under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by Myanmar

Police Force.

54 kilos of heroin,

1,870 stimulants seized in Laukkai

Yangon,

16 Jan – On 6 January 2003, Tatmadawmen from local battalion, members of local

intelligence unit, members of Special Anti-drug Squad and Shan State (North)

Special Region-1, acting on information, stopped and searched three

motorcyclists in Ward 2, Laukkai Township.

Two of the cyclists escaped the

arrest and the driver Le Kye Yon, 30, son of U Li Than Khaik, was seized

together with 12.9 kilograms of herion. Further investigation revealed that one

of the two escaped culprits was Kyon Kaw Kywin, 40, son of U Kyauk Chwin, living

in Ward 2 Laukkai. The combined group searched the house of Kyon Kaw Kywin and

seized his wife Kya Shauk Hua, 33, daughter of U Kya Shauk Myin and Kyon Kaw

Tone, 31, son of U Kyauk Chwin, together with 11 sachets of ephedrine weighing

18.8 kilos, 1,870 stimulant pills, 100 grams of chemical powder and two

equipment used in making stimulants.

Upon further investigation, the

combined team searched the houses of those who were supposed to be engaged in

drug trafficking. Kya Maw, 21, son of U Shauk Li, and Kyin Hua, 26, son of U

Lauk Lit, were arrested together with one 300-gram heroin powder sachet found in

the garage, 139 heroin powder sachets weighing 41.7 kilos and four sachets of

raw opium mixed with acid weighing 4.7 kilos in the basement of U Lauk Kyauk Hpa.

The owner of the drugs U Lauk Kyauk Hpa was avoiding the arrest.

Altogether 54.603 kilos of

heroin, 1,870 stimulants, 18.8 kilos of ephedrine powder, 4.7 kilos of raw opium

mixed with acid, 100 grams of chemical powder and two equipment used in making

stimulants and five culprits were seized in the incident. The police station

concerned filed them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Heroin seized in Lashio

Yangon,

15 Jan- A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and

Anti-Drug Squads, acting on information, on 3 January stopped and searched Hilux

car with number plates Dha/ 1356 near Hopait Village in Lashio Township and

discovered 2.649 kilos of heroin kept in the 66 soap cases from Ma Jar Lat (a)

Ma Jar Bauk; daughter of U Zaw Maw of Jayan Village, Lashio Township.

Similarly, the combined team also arrested Daw

Tin Tin, daughter of U Lone of Service quarter No 12, Room No 3 of Mandalay

Hospital, on 6 January together with 0.35904 kilos of heroin kept in 22 soap

cases while searching No 132 train at Naungpain Station en route from Lashio to

Mandalay.

Heroin 850 gms seized in Muse

Yangon,

9 Jan – A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit and

Muse Special Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information, searched a bus with number

plate 9Ka/6581 near Namhu Village on Kyukok-Pangsang-Monekoe Road at 6 pm on 11

December 2002 and arrested passengers Tuam Yin Fa with six heroin bars covered

with condom and 79 heroin bars from the abdomen of Huam Guo Meng, totalling 85

bars of heroin weighing 850 grams.

Muse Police Station filed Tuan Yin Fa, 27, son of U Tuam Yao Yuin of Longyan,

Longlin District, the People’s Republic of China and Huam Guo Meng, 34, son of

Huam Qing Yin of Longlin of PRC under Sections 15/19(A)/20(B) of Narcotic Drugs

and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Stimulant pills seized in Lashio            

Yangon,

9 Jan – A combined team comprising members of  the local intelligence unit and

Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, stopped and searched a motorbike

with number plates 1Ya/61392 and seized 80,000 stimulant tablets from Yan Shauk

Kwe (a) Ah Kwe, son of U Yan Shi Tin of Ward 7 of Lashio, and Aik Kya (a)  Kaw

Lein, son of U Wa Lein, on the bike on 24 December 2002.

Action is being

taken against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

seized in Tamu

2 Jan- A combined team comprising local intelligence unit and Myanmar Police

Force, on 21 December ,acting on a tip-off, stopped and searched a passenger bus

with number plates 4 Kha/ 8355 in Tamu and seized 5.4 litres of phensedyl filled

in the five soft drink bottles from Ma Rodi, daughter of U Maung Kyaw,

Region-17, Tarhan (A) ward, Kale, and Ma Rolu Poie Ree, daughter of U Thaw Na,

Sawbwainn 4-Ward,Tamu.

On follow- up investigation, the combined team

also detained Ma Larl Poie Ree, daughter of U Thaw Na.

In connection with the case, police station

concerned filed a case against them under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic

Substances Law.
