drug-related cases exposed in March

12 May— The Tatmadaw, the Myanmar Police Force and the Customs Department
exposed 254 drug-related cases — 14.3422 kilos of opium in 39 cases, 4.7073
kilos of heroin in 73 cases, 0.015 kilo of morphine, 1.0166 kilos of opium oil
in two cases, 12.6852 kilos of low-grade opium in 15 cases, 17.7757 kilos of
marijuana in 17 cases, eight litres of Phensedyl in two cases, 43,225 stimulant
tablets in 67 cases, 0.006 kilo of Ephedrine, 0.37 litre of cough syrup in two
cases, 9.1097 kilos of speciosa in three cases, one diazepam tablet, 200
ampoules of buprenorphine injection in one case, 13 cases in failure to register
and other 20 cases in Mar 2004.
Action was taken against 320
persons in 254 cases — 256 men and 64 women— in March 2004.
