Over 140 kilos of opium seized in Phakant
Yangon, 21 Jan – Acting on the information, a combined team including members of regional battalions and units, intelligence unit, Myanmar Police Force and departmental personnel raided vegetable truck terminal of Kyauk-thway-taung Market, Ward 4, Seikmu Village, Phakant Township, Kachin State, on 15 January.
They arrested Ma Bauk, 35, daughter of U Sun Luk Tu, No 44, Aden Village, Tatkon Village-tract, Myitkyina Township, together with 95 packets of opium weighing 142.897 kilos hidden among orange baskets, cabbage bags and jaggery boxes.
Phakant Township MPF Station is taking action against the culprit under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. – MNA
