Aung nabbed
with 21.5 kilos of Ephedrine powder in Mandalay on 31 January.
YANGON,
14 Feb – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
departmental personnel, acting on information, while waiting on 35th Street
between 63rd and 64th Streets in Chanayethazan Township on 30 January, nabbed
drug trafficker Ma Laing Nin, daughter of U Yan Lun of Mintha Block in Seinban
Ward, Mahaaungmye Township, with one packet of Ephedrine powder weighing 4.5
kilos.
The Ephedrine powder can be used in producing
stimulant tablets.
Acting on further information received from Ma
Laing Nin, the authorities nabbed Thet Myint at his house at the corner of 21st
and 89th Streets in Minde Eikin Ward, Aungmyethazan Township, with three packets
of Ephedrine powder weighing 17 kilos and drug traffickers Ma Htay Kyi at 60th
Street between 39th and 40th Streets in Mahaaungmye Township and Tin Aung of
Bahtatchaik/25, Myayinanda Myothit, Chanmyathazi Township.
Action is taken against them under the
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
