– To fulfill one of the social objectives of the state which is to “up lift of health, fitness and educational standards of the entire nation” – To implement the National Health Policy. – To develop the health system in line with the changing political, economic and social system of the country. The National Health Plan (1996-2001) is a continuation of the NHP (1993-1996) and hence the following broad programme areas as in the previous NHP are included. 1.Community Health Care Programme
