Drug traffickers get 20 years each

Yangon,
18 Dec – A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Yangon Anti-drug Squad, acting on information, searched Room No 101, Sunflower
Guest House in Mingala Taungnyunt Township on 30 June this year. The authorities
nabbed Yan Kyu Sin and Arhsaphar together with 7,490 stimulant tablets in the
room. The Mingala Taungnyunt Police Station filed Yan Kyu Sin (a) Kyu Siin, 30,
son of U Yan Shauk Hsaing of Kwanmo Village in Hsipaw Township and Arhsaphar (a)
Arti, 31, son of U Yan Lar of Kyokpon Village in Mogok Township under section
15/19 (A) 21 of the Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Law. The Yangon
District (East) Court sentenced 20 years� imprisonment each on them under
section 19 (A) on 12 November.
