Taung Yan Shin Military Operations 1 and 2
From 26 December 1985 to 26 February 1986 Taung Yan Shin
Military Operations 1 and 2 were carried out in Eastern Command and
North-Eastern Command Regions. Altogether 24246.0 acres of poppy
field were sprayed from air with 1205 bell Helicopter, 6 Thrush planes, 3
PC6 planes, 2 PC7 planes and 2 Fokkers. Under Taung Yan Shin
Operations 1 and 2 and Nga Ye Pan Phase 6 Operations, the Tatmadaw
had destroyed 33621.24 acres of poppy fields and lost 1 man and had 1
injured. From the enemy side, 2 were killed and 2 fire arms seized.
