YANGON,
18 Aug — A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit,
Tachilek Special Anti-Drug Squad and local battalion, acting on information,
searched the house of Ar Be in Adee Village, Lwedawkham Village-tract, Tachilek
Township, on 29 December 2003. The authorities seized 40,000 stimulant tablets,
a USA-made shotgun, 12 rounds of ammunition, one Czech-made. 22 gun, one
USA-made 9mm pistol, 50 rounds of its ammunition and one-hand made shotgun kept
under his bed.

Tachilek Police Station filed him
with FIR 89/2003 and 90/2003 under the Sections 15/ 19(A)/22 (B) of the Narcotic
Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. Tachilek District Court sentenced Ar Be,
son of U Lau Phe to 30 years’ imprisonment under Sections 19 (A) and 22 (B) and
Ar Gel (a) Zaw Tun, son of U Ar The to 16 years’ under Section 19(A) and 30
years’ under Section 21 of the law.

Drug dealer

5 Aug — A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and
Tachilek Special Anti-Drug Squad, searched the house of Ar Ngo (a) Noh San of
Thayatchan Street, Loon Kying Village, Tachilek Township on 10 October 2003 and
arrested him together with 90 stimulant tablets. Tachilek District Court
sentenced him 5 years’ imprisonment under section 15 and 19 years’ imprisonment
under section 19 (a) to serve seperately.
