Men arrested with 1,959,000
stimulant tablets, pistol in Myawady
YANGON,
26 May-A combined team comprising members of Defence Services Intelligence and
Myanmar Police Force arrested three men together with 1,959,000 stimulant
tablets bearing WY brand, one M-20 pistol and a magazine in a house in Myawady,
Kayin State, on 13 May.
Acting on a tip-off, the
authorities searched the house of U Maung Aung in Ward 4, Myawady, and found Yan
Kwan Hmyin (a) Ahhua of Hopaik Village, Lashio Township, Sai Maung Ba (a) Law
Hsan of Ward 9, Lashio, and Win Hlaing of Mining Ward 3, Namtu, with the drugs
and the pistol. On further investigation, the authorities managed to arrest Aik
Thi of 289, Maha Aungmyay Township, Mandalay, to whom the drug belongs, and
accomplice Khala (a) Alon of Hopaik Village, Lashio Township, at Moe Guest House
in Myawady and another accomplice Sai Hsa Tun of Tawyakyaung Street, Ward 10,
Lashio, at Oo Guest House in the same town.
Action is being taken against the
six according to law.
