Opium seized in Waingmaw, Township

ANGON 14 May- Thirty-three packets of opium
weighing 28.7 kilos were seized from a white van by a team comprising
Myitkyina Anti-Drug Squad. regional Defence Services Intelligence and
Waingmaw Police Station in Waingmaw Township on 1 May evening.
The authorities, acting on the
information, stopped and searched the car near Khashi Village, Waingmaw
Township. Driver of the car was Kan Oo (a) U Kyi Soe and three passengers
were Ma Aye Thi, Zaw Tan and Zaw Aung. In connection with the seizure,
action is being taken against Ma Aye Thi, who was arrested, and other three,
who are absconding.
